AOC Sunday Report – Seventeenth Sunday after Trinity

Happy Seventeenth Sunday after Trinity!

The AOC Sunday Report can be downloaded RIGHT HERE!

We have excellent sermons this morning from Bishops Jerry and Roy, as well as Revs Jack and Bryan. Each one is different, but each one is extremely good.  Rev Jack brings the propers together today.  His sermon can be viewed on videoHERE -> https://youtu.be/8RQkg1Vlj8w  First, we learn a new meaning for a common word ‘prevent’.  Then when the Collect talks changing our direction, we tend to think we know ourselves better, however that is simply false. God designed and built each and every one of us. Do we truly think we know more than our Creator? That is the foolishness of our natural inclination talking. If we stop to think, we realize, with the help of the Holy Ghost, God truly knows what is best for us and it will be a lot better for us if we listen to Him.   Paul calls usto a new life, different from our old life. He is calling us to reform and to turn a new leaf so to speak. He is calling us to reject the Old Man and accept the Holy Ghost into our hearts so we can be upgraded to the New Man 2.0.  When Luke relates the parable of the feast, it is more than just a seating diagram  It all comes together, read or listen and find out how.  I hope you find it useful.

There are a lot of people that would like your prayer, today is absolutely no exception.  Please take a little time to pray.  Start with Tricia, Shamu, Laurie, Mr. Kim and work out from there.

There's a lot going on in the week ahead, for one thing, the biennial meeting of the AOC is taking place in Statesville North Carolina. If you're ever interested in going, drop us a line and we will get you an invitation. It is open to all members.   We bring this up because it would be appreciated if you would keep the AOC in your prayers as this week goes on that we might come to the right decisions on various and sundry items.

Safe travels to everyone, may your week go well.

Godspeed,

Hap
