Happy Fifth Sunday after Trinity!
The AOC Sunday Report can be downloaded RIGHT HERE!
We have wonderful sermons this morning from Bishops Jerry and Roy, as well as Rev Jack. You might notice that Rev Brian did not provide us a sermon. You may ask yourself, why is that? Well, if you have been reading the prayer list, you would remember he had quadruple bypass surgery three days ago. While he is doing well he's not really up to providing us with the sermon. Rev Jack brings the Propers together today. His sermon can be viewed on video HERE -> https://youtu.be/u19_I0fjt_Q
In the Collect, we ask that the events of this world might follow God’s governance or will. Why? Because in those places where it does, we find happiness and joy. It is that simple, it means more, reflect on that. The point Saint Peter makes in this morning’s Epistle is that it is easy for us to be sinful creatures and not do good. It is much harder to resist that sin and to do good, but yet that is what God calls us to do. In the Gospel, when Simon Peter finally listened and acted according to Jesus’s instructions, wonderful things happened. So too will they happen for us when we finally actually listen to what God wants and do it instead of doing what we want. It all comes together. Having trouble visualizing that? Read or listen to Rev Jack’s sermon.
O |
HEAVENLY Father, who hast filled the world with beauty; Open, we beseech thee, our eyes to behold thy gracious hand in all thy works; that rejoicing in thy whole creation, we may learn to serve thee with gladness; for the sake of him by whom all things were made, thy Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
On that happy note, I bid you an EPIC WEEK,
