Happy Sunday next before Advent!
The AOC Sunday Report can be downloaded RIGHT HERE!
Today we have excellent sermons from Bishops Jerry and Roy, as well as Revs Jack and Bryan. Each is different, each is very good. Rev Jack brings the Propers together today. His sermon can be viewed on video here -> https://youtu.be/HkDLbffnPpE. The Collect, Epistle and Gospel tie together, laying out, detailing and reinforcing the same message ultimately. This Sunday is commonly known as Stir up Sunday. This is from the first two words of the Collect. Incidentally, in England, this is the Sunday that the Christmas fruit cake is commonly made. The Collect asks God increase in us a desire to do His work. The scripture which serves as an official as the Epistle is a reading from the Book of Jeremiah, which foretells Jesus’ entry into the world. The Gospel is the feeding of five thousand with five barley loves and two small fishes. I think you’ll enjoy the manner in which all of this comes together.
Every week we have a lot of people on the prayer list who desire your prayer, this week is no different. Please start with Tricia, Shamu, Laurie, Jim and work out from there.
There is a really wonderful week ahead, Thanksgiving is this Thursday. When we think of Thanksgiving, who are we thanking? There is a big movement in this world to get away from thanking God on Thanksgiving. If you are not thanking, God, who are you thanking? Before you answer that you might want to consider the implications.
Have a wonderful, nay an EPIC, week ahead.
