The Virgin shall Conceive – 22 December 2021, Anno Domini

T

HEREFORE the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.  (Isaiah 7:14)

Some of the modern theological revisionists have doubts of the pure Word of God and attempt to engineer the miraculous Virgin birth out of Scripture, for example, this text from the same passage above comes from the corrupt New Revised Standard Bible: Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Look, the young woman is with child and shall bear a son, and shall name him Immanuel(Isaiah 7:14 (NRSV)  We all know that ‘young woman’ can describe someone other than a Virgin. The new versions at many points attempt to demean the nature of our Lord as the very Son of God. Jesus keeps getting in their way in the drive to establish a one-world religion in which there is neither room for Jesus nor His Father, for there is no recognition of the Father without the Son.

Mary was the special vessel chosen by God as the mother of Jesus Christ in the incarnation. Of course, Jesus existed as God the Son from Eternity past and therefore not the son of Mary as God, but in the flesh. Mary, in no sense, is the Mother of God , or the Co-Redemptress, as the Roman Church attempts to claim. Mary was a righteous young woman but not perfect in righteousness as no person born on earth is perfect in righteousness. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God(Romans 3:23) That verse, in so far as I can tell, makes no exception for the blessed Mary – a lady worthy of our veneration –  respect or awe inspired by the dignity, wisdom, dedication, or talent of a person. (Webster’s Dictionary)

Virginity was not the ONLY characteristic God saw in Mary. It was her faith and righteous living that God foresaw in Mary. She was chosen as the Mother of the Christ-Child long before her birth in Nazareth. Our purity and righteousness, too, will not merit our being chosen by God to be His elect people. His Will and Ways in the predestination of His chosen people are beyond our full understanding. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.   (Isaiah 55:8) You will remember the Ten Virgins of Matthew 25:1-6: five had the oil of the Holy Spirit to direct their path, and the other five, though yet virgins, were rejected because they lacked that oil.

Mother Eve is the mother of all living in the worldly and physical sense, yet she could pass along the gift of eternal life to her offspring – only those born anew of the Spirit could enjoy that benefit. Eve is a typical example of the Church, but in what sense. Eve is the maternal head of the Human Race just as the Church is the mother of all of faith. The Church, in spite of her warts and blemishes, is pure in the Eyes of the Lord and destined to be His Bride at the Marriage Supper of the Lord. For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.  (Isaiah 54:5) This is the consistent plan of God from before the beginning of Creation itself.

From Adam to Abraham, and Abraham to the present day, God has had a people of His own choosing. Those who have believed in the promised Redeemer made to Father Abraham are truly the Children of God – both Jew and Gentile. The Jewish rulers of the day of our Lord had added many manmade rules to the Law of Moses and even the Law of God. They had corrupted the Passover and added burdens to the law impossible for men to bear. But those few who believed in the coming of the Redeemer were saved by grace in faith. Now, those of us of faith, believe based upon the accomplished fact of the Redemption in Christ since God, and His works, are  . . . . same yesterday, and to day, and for ever(Heb 13:8)

There are versions of the church today that are not the church at all, but rather spiritual adulterers. They chase after other gods than the God of our Father Abraham. Spiritual adultery is equivalent to idolatry. If the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ is not their God, they have another god. But the day of the consummation of the redemption of the Church and all the elect of God is fast approaching. Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.  (Rev 19:9) Read the promise of God and rejoice:

ND I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away(Rev 21:2-4)
