God’s Sign in the Sky – 13 June 2021, Anno Domini

A

ND God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:  13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.  14 And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:  15 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh(Genesis 9:12-15)

The Lord God placed a rainbow in the cloud as evidence of His covenant with man that He would not again destroy all flesh upon the earth by flood waters. Any threat of storm reveals, along with its billowing clouds, that rainbow as a reminder that the terror of a general Deluge will not follow. Though mankind may forget that covenant, the Lord God will NOT fail to remember it! As He has promised, I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh.

Even though God will remember His covenant, it is important, too, that man remembers. It is a great reassurance to see the rainbow in the clouds when winds roar and the clouds advance or retreat. What is the nature of that rainbow? It is comprised of SEVEN colors – not six as the perverse movement boasts – and all those seven colors combined will result in pure white. God is whiter than snow, and He is a God of many colors – all combined to create white! In elementary school, we had a visiting teacher who came monthly to demonstrate many natural wonders of science. She had a disc with all the colors of the rainbow arranged as slices of pie on its face. When she would spin the disc, it would become completely white. This would not be the result of the corrupted six-color rainbow of gross perversion.

Do you ever wonder why seven colors? Seven represents the absolute perfection and foundation of God, while six represents the sin and imperfection of man. So, a six-color rainbow fits the perversity of man quite well. God created the Heavens and the earth in six days and rested on the seventh. Seven represents the creative genius of God, and the seven colors of the rainbow represent the consummation of His judgment on the then world and a new Creation populated by Noah and his family. There are seven days of Creation; seven notes on the musical scale; there are seven candles of the Tabernacle; there are seven churches in the Book of Revelations, etc.

The number seven occurs more than 700 times in Holy Scripture. Christ arose from the dead at the end of the seventh day Sabbath. In the end of the sabbath (sunset Saturday), as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.  And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. (Matthew 28:1-2)  The Lord was already risen before daybreak of the eighth day (Sunday): The first day of the week (Sunday) cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre. (John 20:1) It is my opinion that the Lord spent all of the Sabbath Day in the tomb and arose at the end of the Sabbath which was sunset on Saturday. (So much for Easter sunrise services). Christ arose from the tomb precisely at the end of the seventh day Sabbath according to the above-quoted texts.

Which kind of rainbow do you prefer – the one that proclaims the creative beauty of God and His covenant; or the one that represents the perversions of a society gone mad with sinful imaginations? I prefer the Rainbow of God and the assurance I receive each time the rainclouds gather or dissipate. The six-color rainbow is not really a rainbow at all for it cannot appear in six colors in the cloud. It is the sign of a delusional and perverse society that is centered on the wicked imaginations of man.  GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually(Gen 6:5)

Please do not be like the people of Israel to whom Elijah proclaimed:

ND Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. (1 Kings 18:21)
